Philippe Squarzoni spent his childhood in the Ardèche then on Reunion. His first political albums “Garduno, en temps de paix” (Garduno, in peacetime) and “Zapata, en temps de guerre” (Zapata, in time of war) were published in 2002 and 2003 at Requins Marteaux editions. Philippe Squarzoni is also nominated for the Best Screenplay Award in Angoulême for “Garduno, en temps de paix”. He devotes himself to an immense study on climate change that gives his most personal, intense and uplifting book : “Saison Brune” (Brown Season) published in 2012 by Delcourt editions. The album is very successful and receives the Jury Prize of the Festival of Lyon BD and the Léon de Rosen Award by the Académie française for his contribution to the understanding and dissemination of the values that cover the notion of respect for the Environment.
