About
Gillian Flynn was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Due to her passion for the cinema and her talent as a journalist she moved to New York where she worked as a columnist for Entertainment Weekly. Her job took her to film sets all over the world, from New Zealand (Lord of the Rings) to Prague (The Brothers Grimm) among others, but for the last four years of her collaboration with Entertainment Weekly she concentrated on TV reviews.
In 2006, her first novel Sharp Objects was short-listed for the Edgar prize, and won several other prizes in Great Britain. In 2009, Dark Places, which was to be adapted for the screen, received both critical and public acclaim. Her third novel, Gone Girl, was published in May 2012 by W&N. She now lives in Chicago with her husband Brett Nolan and her son. Her novels have been published in 28 countries.
