Louise Penny

Autobiography for Quais du Polar

“She’s dead, Janvier,” said the inspector.  ‘A shame.  She’s beautiful.’

“Her name’s Louise Penny.”

“Two first names?  Suspicious.”

“And I don’t think she’s dead, patron.  I think she’s Canadian.  They’re often pale.  Step on her hand.  See if she apologizes.”

“Tabernac, maudit,” shouted the gorgeous woman.

“Not dead sir.  Québécoise.”
