Irvine Welsh


Born in 1958 in Edinburgh, Irvine Welsh left school at 16 and a string of odd jobs. His first novel Trainspotting, worship in the world, adapted to the theater and the cinema in 1996 by Danny Boyle. He was awarded the Scottish Arts Council Book Award for Trainspotting and the Saltire Society Scottish Book of the Year Award for Porno.
