Nicolas Mathieu

About

Nicolas Mathieu was born in 1978. After studying history and cinema, he moved to Paris where he worked in many different professions. In 2014, he published his first novel, Aux animaux la guerre, with Actes Sud, and received the Erckmann-Chatrian prize, the Transfuge prize for the best Polar hope and the Mystère prize from the critics. He participated in the adaptation of the novel, which became a series broadcast on France 3, with Roschdy Zem in the main role. His second novel, Leurs enfants après eux (Actes Sud 2018), was hailed by enthusiastic critics and won the 2018 Goncourt Prize. In 2020, he published an album for young people illustrated by Pierre-Henry Gomont, La Grande école (Actes Sud Junior).
