Volker Kutscher


After studying unprofitable arts, (literature, history, philosophy) Volker Kutscher initially worked as a newspaper editor because he did not want to pursue a career as taxi driver. While working for the newspaper, he wrote his first crime novels as a hobby. He than turned this hobby into a profession when he started the novel series about detective inspector Gereon Rath, who is investigating in Berlin in the 1920s and 1930s.
