The 20th edition of the international Quais du Polar festival will take place from April 5th to April 7th, 2024, in Lyon.
In 2024, Quais du Polar will be celebrating its 20th birthday under the theme of “20 Years of noir.”
This anniversary edition will reflect on two decades of a genre that has continuously evolved and reinvented itself. Over these 20 years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of authors from diverse backgrounds, some of whom we’ve witnessed emerge and supported wholeheartedly. It’s been two decades of engaging, inspiring, and occasionally moving encounters, with thousands of passionate and enthusiastic festivalgoers. We’ll be commemorating 20 years of valuable book recommendations from librarians, film noir, games, investigations, discoveries, professional exchanges, and mediation activities centred around books. Join us in celebrating 20 years of dedicated passion for the noir genre.
This anniversary edition will showcase the genre’s evolution and feature prominent authors from the festival’s history. Looking towards the future, we’ll shine a spotlight on new authors and emerging trends in the noir genre.
As a renowned and essential festival, Quais du Polar will remain free and multidisciplinary, aiming to promote and make culture in general, and books in particular, accessible to a wide audience.
20 years of Quais du Polar in numbers:
