Lina Bengtsdotter grew up in Gullspång and lives now in Stockholm. She is educated teacher in Swedish and psychology and has published a series of short stories in newspapers in Sweden and the Nordic region. Annabelle is her debut.
Autobiography for Quais du Polar
I write character-driven crime stories that takes place in the small village of Sweden where I grew up. I used to be a teacher, but my new profession as an author gives me more time to explore my largest interests in life: storytelling, language and psychology.
Favorite “noir”
: The Silver Road, Stina Jackson
: I´m not a film/serie-person, but I enjoyed the first season of True detective by Nic Pizzolatto.
: When it comes to writers, I love Sylvia Plath, Lucia Berlin, and Alice Munro. All of them are noir in there own kind of ways.
